The Whisky Jury

This is the very first bottling from THE WHISKY JURY. After reviewing samples from all over Scotland, a BEN NEVIS 1995 was “chosen”. A refill hogshead, matured for almost 24 years. Why “chosen”? Because I wish it was that easy!

It’s old Caol Ila, slowly matured in a refill hoggie during 35 years. What more can I say? That I hope most buyers will open their bottles! #openyourbottles

If you like Ben Nevis, you’ll like this one. Chalk, wax, minerality, fruit, marzipan (really). And a punchy kick.

It’s peated and it’s from Islay. Welcome to our first Williamson. It is barrel matured. Being a whisky lover, you know barrels are smaller than hogsheads. So they mature faster.

The nose is very farmy. Think of a sweating horse. Combined with a leather horse saddle. And a lovely sweet touch. This sweet touch comes back in the palate. With a lot of peat, without being ‘only peat’. It’s very balanced. No water is needed, the strengt is just fine. And the length is … well… long. Cheers!

This Williamson cask is a sister cask of the other one. So you immediately get the same peaty iodine style of malt. But this one is less farmy and is more citrusy.

We can’t pick a favourite, we love them both. It’s great trying them side by side.

This is our very first Ledaig. And we LOVE Ledaig. In our opinion, Ledaig is the new Ardbeg.

Please take your time as it’s a delicate one. Give it 15 minutes in your glass and you will discover the pure nature of peated Tobermory without any cask domination. Only peat, smoke and citrus. We love it. Hope you will too. Feel free to add some water. As it swims well.

Although it’s not official, we believe this is a first fill bourbon cask. It’s very mature and muscled for being only (almost) 12 years old. A drop of water makes the bourbon fruit come out even more.

If you love Ben Nevis, you’ll love this one. It has all the fruit, the chalk, the minerality, the long and exotic finish,… that makes us love Ben Nevis.

And of all 3 Ben Nevis bottlings we released to date, we dare to say this one is the most balanced of the 3. Cheers!

This 1979 PRUNIER Cognac is the first Cognac released by The Whisky Jury. Imported by The Purist. It was chosen for its luscious fruitiness and bottled at 53.7% cask strength. Appellation Petite Champagne Contrôlée… et vachement fruitée. Santé!

Appellation Fins Bois Contrölée. Bottled at 53% cask strength. Only 42 bottles. Matured over 59 years.

Appelation Grande Champagne Contrôlée. Bottled at 55% cask strength. Matured over 60 years. Only 42 bottles

Since we didn’t have an EYE LAND PORK yet we wanted to bottle this distillate driven cask. This refined Orkney single malt was matured in a refill hoggie. Bottled 2 years ago. We had the chance to obtain it and we didn’t want to miss the opportunity to release this one for us. Total output:197 bottles numbered by hand.
